I disagree—it’s not just writing a Bond movie after No Time to Die. It’s writing a Bond movie after the entire Craig run, which was all one story with an origin story and a conclusion.

They worked so hard to make Everything Matter that it diminished the whole endeavor.

When Craig’s Bond died, he retroactively transformed the Bond series into an anthology of multi-movie arcs about individual spies who happen to be named James Bond. That takes the goofy fun out of the premise and changes the deal with moviegoers. I’m not convinced they’ll want to take the new deal.

Yes, it’s stupid to think that all the James Bond movies are the adventures of one guy, but that’s the premise that moviegoers bought. People who take continuity more seriously could have their “it’s a code name” headcanon, but that’s not the story most people want to watch.

And it created a meta-problem: Once producers allowed Craig to kill his Bond, they established death as an option for future Bonds—and most actors are going to want a juicy death scene. If your Bond doesn’t grow and change and die, your turn at the character is less “serious” and consequential.

I am incapable of keeping a ballot in the house for more than 24 hours, so you’re preaching to the choir.

This has nothing to do with Grant Morrison or his Animal Man issue. Smith’s just hosting the comic. EC Comics did this with the Cryptkeeper. The Watcher hosted Marvel’s What If comic. There’s nothing special about this, and he’s not even ripping off the smart comic that he thinks he’s ripping off.

That’s the thing! You’re either a reputation laundering machine to them or you’re scum that needs to be eliminated—honestly, probably both at the same time.

The Trump Administration has already announced plans to privatize commissaries. Seems like this is just a way to brute-force it. The idea of efficiently and affordably feeding the families of US military is offensive to them—after all, Kroger or Walmart could make more profits!
Pentagon Takes Another Step Toward Commissary Privatization
Such a fundamental shift could put this important benefit at risk.

That used to be a person’s whole job! Now it’s maybe the twelfth thing an editor does.
