Idk, I guess I’m just (as usual) beseeching the void for more empathy toward non-famous 30somethings trying to navigate the music industry. We are constantly on the brink of one bad day sending years of work up in smoke.

Granted, depending on the scenes you run in, there’s no shortage of death and loss amongst younger artists in their 20s either. But to survive long enough to have a career in music in your 30s – an insane undertaking tbqh – and then be made to deal with this is more terrifying than any 360 deal.

It hasn’t happened to me (thank God), and the pain isn’t my story to tell, but I have seen a few colleagues go through this already this year, and it really makes me question if any of this shit even matters.
