Re-sign Pete Alonso. The Polar Bear should be a Met for life and the team will benefit from another great hitter to protect him and lengthen the lineup.

#mets are two seasons removed from the hard lessons of overpaying and most of the gaps from that team still remain in some way. “Generational” - we’ll see. Selfish - already evident. Feels like the desire to win as an owner trumped all including stated strategy.

Resign Pete, get another bat to protect him and lengthen the lineup and invest heavily in a ton of quality pitching and I think we’d be better off than this one player overpay flex. I don’t see this deal aging well.

I wasn’t sure what my first post would be but here we go... I’m supposed to be happy as a #Mets fan but hate this Soto deal. Too long, too expensive and 3 players at that cost would help the team more than one player. Emotion trumped reason. Hate what this will likely mean for Pete.
