20 years ago today, Australia defeated Uruguay on penalties to qualify for the 2006 FIFA world Cup.
This game ended a 32 year wait for Australian football fans to see our nation represented in the biggest sporting event in the world.

A great win for the Kangaroos against England in front of 60,000 at Wembley Stadium last night.
Reece Walsh finding new levels on his game.
A great rivalry. Can England find some answers before the 2nd Test?

Former Gaelic Football player, Oisin Mullin kicks a goal in the AFL Grand Final for Geelong Cats. They lead by 3 points at Quarter Time against Brisbane Lions 🦁

Cracking finals match between Hawthorn and Geelong in front of just under 100,000 fans at the MCG.
Geelong lead by just 1 point at HT.
The winner progresses to the AFL Grand Final - against either Brisbane or Collingwood.

Australia 🇦🇺 has just qualified for its 7th World Cup - and 6th consecutive World Cup since 2006.
Football truly is the "world game".
It makes me enormously proud to see Australia in that arena again. ⚽️⚽️🇦🇺

Craig Foster on X makes so much sense here.
So much potential for these young players to progress further under Ange.
With some new players added to strengthen the squad, it really feels like a lost opportunity for Spurs.

Craig Foster (Foz) on WWOS in Australia today discussing Champions League, Super Cup and joking about potential "diplomatic incident" if Spurs sack Ange 🙄

Something quite poetic with these images.
Ange consoling Sonny in 2015 after Australia denies him a trophy with South Korea.
Then in 2025, Sonny wins a trophy with Spurs & Ange.

When a manager has players willing to run through brick walls if required, that's hard to beat on a Cup Final.
Maybe this is why Ange is a serial winner.

We have had some great sporting moments in Australia.
For me, this is one of them.
Football has high participation but hardly any coverage on mainstream media.
Not today though.
Alot of celebrations down under.

Some reading for me before the EL Final.
I've loved football since the 70's - 1978 WC Final to be exact.
Over the past decade, Ange has been part of some massive football moments for me with Brisbane Roar & Australia.
Hoping that Spurs deliver another massive moment next week for Spurs fans. COYS

A market cycle can run over several years through a range of behavioural emotions.
With Spurs, it feels like we can go from exuberance to despair within 7 days. Some fans have probably capitulated even.

They can also become quite tame. If we leave doors open, they will quite happily wander around the house. This picture is one of our young magpies who is quite happy to sit with us.
