And then just a simple settings page for now (for the Evohome plugin specifically).

Handy little overview on the status of the scheduled tasks, as well as some simple metrics around API calls and such.

Something I've added though is an Override Control mechanism, where zones can be prevented from being overriden from the schedule. This is handy as the T87 Wallmounted stat ignores control locks from the main system controller. Plus, it's flexible in that you can schedule when overrides are allowed!

The Schedule Overview allows you to view and update the current Schedule which is configured for the system. Pretty much self explanitory, but much easier to navigate and manage.

For the most part, integration with the Evohome system is going well. There is a dashboard which gives a complete overview of all of the heating zones, their current temperatures, target temperatures. You can trigger a 'Boost' for 1 hour, or cancel any current override which is in place.

So something I've been working on for a while now, is a webui to allow me to easily manage some of my smart home devices. At the moment I've only tied it into my heating system, but the plan is to extend it to other devices over time via a plugin architecture. So here is what it does so far...

I'm here today at the Northwest Computer Museum, to have a look around and meet some folk at the #Commodore Day!

Risked it on AliExpress as the required CPLD to build a Terrible fire TF536 are discontinued and seriously hard to find. Acetone turned the cotton buds slightly black, but cleaning it back up with IPA, the markings were still there. Guess I'll need to try and program one! #amiga #retrocomputing

Bagged a bargain recently. Ocean Software 'The Dream Team' bundle (Terminator 2, Bart vs Space Mutants and Wrestle mania) and Deluxe Paint III for my Amiga, and also Dragon - Bruce Lee Story for my Atari Jaguar... All for just £10!

No it just cleans them up, these had no yellowing to begin with. I know some variations of later Model M keyboards suffer a bit with yellowing especially on the space bar, but these were fine. I've done an Amiga A500 which was really bad, used sodium percarbonate on that with really good results!

Difference in sound between my 1988 Model M keyboards: 1390131 AT Enhanced, and 1390886 Type 2 M122. Stabilisers on both are lubed, the difference is purely from the case.

I am still trying to find more information though on the Lynwood Beta Terminals, beyond a few pages scattered about, there doesn't seem to be too much on these. Apologies on the poor photo (obviously I'll get better ones in future when I do more work on this)
February 4, 2025 at 1:53 PM
Managed to get a hold of a couple more Lynwood Beta Terminal keyboards (in various states of disrepair), so that now makes 3 in total. One is fully restored already, these two need quite a bit of work. Looking at doing a custom PCB for the worst of these and have something a little bit different??

Keeping this short and sweet, but Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you have a lovely Christmas in whatever corner of the world you are, and a cracking New Year! #Christmas #MechanicalKeyboards #Keebs #Santa

Hah yeah I've seen them, and have to admit I do like them! But... Honestly, I'm yet to find anything as thicc or classy as some from the early 80s! These from an old Cheetah Telex machine are just ridiculously chonky!

And that's a wrap. My Twitter/X account is now deactivated and should be fully killed off soon. Interestingly, other than the X company mention at the bottom, the deactivation confirmation for the developer side is all still Twitter branded!

Keyboard/Device converter dev board is mostly assembled now but working! Still waiting for another logic shifter, but so far much better than the breadboard setup I was using! I could probably tidy the neopixels a bit too but they're functional and fine as-is. Certainly more reliable than before!

Tonight I met Professor Steve Furber at an event, and cheekily asked for a signature on my Acorn Electron (Elk). Made my day!

Shiny things arrived today! Been using a breadboard to work on my RP2040 converter project for ages, it's a mess with all the jump wires and bodged connectors, so tidied it up onto a modular PCB which I can easily swap out different devices! 1 RP2040 is the converter, and the other runs Scoppy.

Oh well tomorrow could be interesting if this snow keeps up!

I'll dive into this one more in the future... Needless to say, very happy with it! Wasn't the filthiest keyboard to begin with, but has cleaned up pretty well! #mechanicalkeyboard #keyboard #modelm

Is there a cut off on how old the keyboards can be? 🫣
November 16, 2024 at 11:59 PM
Who else has a favourite or regular place to go when being creative or needing some inspiration? I usually end up at my local computer museum (NorthWest Computer Museum in the UK) this was my setup on quite a few occasions as I was working on a RP2040 powered keyboard converter. Quite a fun project!
