Thank you for sharing your insights. You explain things so clearly. One thing I would note is that there are also a lot of people who have sensory processing difficulties who are not autistic. The brain is fascinating and we have so much to discover.

What a sad and horrible story. This kind of thing is why regulations and regulatory bodies matter. In Alberta the government is actively working to undermine guardrails for safety in health care.

Regulatory bodies are about ethical standards to protect the public. But also about how individual actions by members reflect on the whole profession. Smith doesn’t have an ethical centre and she doesn’t care if her actions hurt anyone.
