I'm prepping a Lenten series for our church adult class using Dr. Amy-Jill Levine's guide _Entering the Passion of Jesus_ as its base. I'm loving the focus on risk. #nowreading

I backed a kickstarter in January '23 (!) for an illustrated prose rendering of Edmond Spencer's Faerie Queene (1590s). I loved reading it in Middle English for an undergrad course. After painstaking work, it's close to being ready to print. This book nerd is giddy (but still being patient-ish).

I was recently gifted this volume of Girls of the Bible by P.C. Headley, who was apparently quite a prolific author. It offers biographical sketches of female characters in the Bible and was published in 1866. It seems to be a children's version of another work of his called Women of the Bible.
