"When the politicians complain that TV turns the proceedings into a circus, it should be made clear that the circus was already there, and that TV has merely demonstrated that not all the performers are well trained."

The most stressful part of traveling for me - a person with a mostly hidden disability - is the sighs/grumbling, an often outright hostility about my walking speed. From airports to sidewalks, I'm already trying to stay to the side. Yet, that has little impact on the behavior of others. Be kinder.

Looking at the residency dates and project deadlines for my now in-progress D.Min. is making the next 3 years evaporate. 🫣 I'm excited and fully aware of this adventure gathering speed. 🎢

Who uses Obsidian for documenting academic reading/research and can recommend set up or a tutorial? There are so many, and I want to be more efficient than watching randomly. #Obsidian #research #academic

Every once in a while, I get to guest teach a seminar, customizing details to the context. Tonight, I'm excited to give a presentation/experience on labyrinths to an EFM cohort which has just read Bp. Steven Charkeston's book _The Four Vision Quests of Jesus_. I love the mix of cultures in this.

"Happy Holy Week, here's your syllabus!" (I am absolutely excited to have a syllabus. I am also trying to stay focused on the sermon I need to preach tonight and the events marking the next few days.) But... it's HERE! 🤓📚

I'm never more of a sacramental kid than during Holy Week, but today was just extra special. My 26-month-old granddaughter, who was baptized at the Great Vigil 2 years ago, received the Eucharist for the first time today, Palm Sunday. She will never recall a time she didn't share in the table. Joy.

Our voice, @booker.senate.gov, is on an absolute roll as he is minutes from 20 hours of filibuster. In the earliest days of this administration, I wrote and called my delegation asking them to do their sworn duty to defend our Republic. Sen. Booker is marshaling that effort. Finally.

I'm in tears listening to @booker.senate.gov read "Lift Every Voice" in the 14th? hour of his filibuster. He's doing the reasonable work of the people. I appreciate seeing Senate colleagues step up.

I met up with a friend yesterday, as people do. We decided to sit on a park bench since it was 60⁰ and sunny. As we talked, a (boomer aged) man we did not know walked up to us, having apparently overheard that we were talking about the bible just then. Without so much as an introduction 🧵

Most of the time, a "quick question" is only quick to ask, not to answer. Unless you've considered the labor of the reply, maybe don't characterize the ask that way?

It's that time of year when our area can experience all the seasons in the same 24 hours. This Thursday-Friday morning, it will go from cool to warm to cold and snow. Come on, spring, keep trying!

I'm kinda proud of residents of my city today.
Protesters confronted President Trump’s border czar on Wednesday over the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil, a permanent legal resident of the U.S. who recently graduated from Columbia University and had helped lead high-profile campus protests against Israel’s war in Gaza. nyti.ms/4hwKarg

I appreciate the trust my Rector places in me, inviting me to preach ~6-8 times a year. Not only on the typical low Sundays, but also during Advent, Lent, and Holy Week. It is a treasure to me, except for one part... 1/2

I'm just catching up to the EO pardon of Pete Rose. He served time (a few months) for tax related convictions. So, posthumously expunging that record? OK. It doesn't clear him of breaking the MLB baseball betting rules. Yes, he was a great player. But... this doesn't change that.
