Tired depressed secret cat lady
I pretty much only use GIMP to resize images and then when I learned how to do it in gwenview I pretty much only use it when I absolutely need to use layers or do something with windows .ico files

Also it's got a prequel that's a vertical shmup so I wonder if this is somehow the dev's whole thing
December 19, 2025 at 1:08 AM
I mean it's tile swapping and not box pushing so it's not *really* sokoban but you have to do quite a bit of it before the good brain-breaky "unlearn everything you know" and most of the story really kicks in and this is basically my dilemma every time I hear "Indie puzzle platformer"
December 19, 2025 at 1:03 AM
What I'm getting from this is mostly just that he and Banagher are really similar and it kinda sucks they didn't get a good scene together in Super Robot Wars 30
December 18, 2025 at 4:45 PM
Oh man I love this version specifically and that illustration rips so I'm glad you did lol
December 18, 2025 at 5:08 AM
(also supposedly there's a new model Dualsense with 17 hrs battery life but they're not advertising it and I'm not sure how to make sure I don't get stuck with the old one so I haven't ordered one yet)
December 18, 2025 at 2:24 AM
I literally looked for a knockoff Dualsense to see if I could find something that removes those features (and the always-on microphone) for better battery life and couldn't find one. Kinda tempted to try plugging a random dongle into my brook FGC and see if that works
December 18, 2025 at 2:22 AM
Yeah like it would actually make more sense than adding back paddles like every modern aftermarket controllers do (not that I hate those, I just never find a good use for em when my main genre is RPGs lol)
December 18, 2025 at 2:13 AM
Ok but the Saturn style controller with only 4 face buttons breaks my brain like, a lot
December 18, 2025 at 2:03 AM
The metaverse stuff was so aggravating because that was legitimately a cool thing with potential being hailed as the Next Big Thing by web 3.0 grifters so turgid over the idea of digital land speculation they couldn't make anything that didn't run worse than most shovelware
December 17, 2025 at 3:01 PM
Oh I just use "Quality Slop" to refer to something like a good YouTube Poop. Like "that's some quality slop right there"
December 16, 2025 at 12:59 PM
Kinda half hoping/expecting that Microsoft decides that anything that runs on Xbox Series or Xbox One should run on Windows, including the back compatible titles.
December 15, 2025 at 12:51 AM
Nah it's pretty dumb. Like even if you're into home automation stuff there's certain things it doesn't make sense on.
Ironically though I'd like a feature like this on my *regular* washer and dryer
December 15, 2025 at 12:45 AM
Also Mysterious Girlfriend X and Generic Kowloon Romance actually*do* look like that heavily doctored "retro aesthetic" filter and it's kinda crazy lol
December 14, 2025 at 12:34 PM
We all know most people don't actually want 90s anime aesthetic, they want "90s anime aesthetic Tumblr account" which is usually run through a bunch of filters and very few anime from the 90s actually look like that and if they do it's only briefly.
December 14, 2025 at 12:34 PM
Yeah that's the one. There's a news story about an orbital solar power satellite at the beginning that doesn't seem important but ends up being the villain's superweapon you have to stop because of course it does.
December 13, 2025 at 8:42 PM
I mean yeah. But the basic idea of building a giant solar array in space and sending the electricity down via microwave or something isn't actually that dumb.
The logistics of it are though.
(Also this is the plot of The Bouncer lol)

We need whatever got us a new Alex Kid to happen with Phantasy Star
December 13, 2025 at 4:41 PM
Also certain things like game soundtracks can be suuuuper long which is really expensive to do on vinyl so you get stuff that's either an abridged "selections from" release, a $200 boxed set, or a $100 boxed set that's still abridged. The CD will still be $50 but also a really deluxe package
December 13, 2025 at 8:27 AM
Yeah, I think that's actually the bulk of my collection. I have some older stuff but my 3 main collecting phases were early 2000s, mid 2010s, and like a couple years ago. Now I try to get stuff on CD if I can. It's cheaper, easier to deal with. Usually sounds the same or better.
December 13, 2025 at 8:27 AM
11 even has been so crammed with QoL that you can play 99% of it with a party of 3-5 your imaginary friends and even ignore the player-run economy that's been in shambles for decades.
December 13, 2025 at 8:13 AM
The real reason new pressings average $25-$55 is because everything is on 180g colored vinyl and is trying to be marketed as a high end and usually limited product. And it can sound very good, unless the company doing the release screws up, which unfortunately has happened for some rereleases
December 13, 2025 at 8:01 AM
The basic process is usually the same, it's just the vast majority of records are made from digital masters now. Which pisses off a lot of audiophiles but if it's post 2000s it was recorded digitally anyway and before that there's practical preservation reasons to digitize the tapes. If they exist.
December 13, 2025 at 8:01 AM
Bit disappointed it's not actually a ACE within SRT rendering in a common media player, it's just using it to hide a payload that's contingent on someone knowing how to pirate but not knowing what valid video file extensions are.
December 13, 2025 at 2:16 AM
Oh I had this happen to Persona Q a few years back, was kinda devastated
