Yeah that's the one. There's a news story about an orbital solar power satellite at the beginning that doesn't seem important but ends up being the villain's superweapon you have to stop because of course it does.

It's great when they do have locks and get stolen anyway. Or when there's like a pilot ID system so the military has to keep the kid who got in it first no matter how many raspberry pis he attaches to the mess hall appliances

Shining Force would also be a contender but I'm pretty certain nothing I could say to the theoretical genie giving me this new game that wouldn't make the new Shining game another Action RPG entry like the last dozen or so everyone forgets got made after Shining Force III

Oh man it got mine totally wrong but I guess that's what I get when what I play and what I watch YouTube videos about can be pretty different lol.

Alas the one time bebop was in Super Robot Wars there was no Evangelion rep so he met this kid instead.
Watta Takeo from Invincible Robo Tryder G7 (1980). He's wearing an old school helmet that kinda looks like a batting helmet and he has a popped collar and a giant grin. He owns his family's company and the other family members show up in attacks sometimes.

(Spoilers but not really for old games)
The final form of Lavos from Chrono Trigger for SNES: an alien in gold armor vaguely like the Frieza force, with long spindly white arms, a small head set inside its helmet, duck-like feet and 2 floating bits. Not my favorite form (that would be the one that looks like Frieza with laser nipples) but still super memorable design First form of Reverie, the final boss from Trails in the Sky: First Chapter (modern Remake pictured). Reverie is a mech with white and gold armor, a tiny orb head inside what appears to be a helmet, long spindly mostly white arms, three toed feet (not quite duck-like, but close), and two floating bits on either side. Sadly, it doesn't do the "true body is one of the bits" gimmick from Chrono Trigger, but one bit has insane physical defense and the other has insane magic defense so you have to consider what types of attacks you use.

Like it's funny with that example because of the contrast in genres but to me Encouragement of Climb is *the* prime example of a show where the artstyle makes everyone look waaaaaaaaaaay younger than they're supposed to be

We're looking up at the separate top and bottom halves of the Gundam as Amuro has taken the Core Fighter out of it to fly around and survey the island. It's really awkward looking since it was separated with the Gundam in kinda on a hands and knees position and the top half is sorta just dangling while balancing on its hands. The Gunperry is visible in the background, making you wonder why they didn't just use that.

Oh also also build fighters is just unabashedly great, the characters are a joy and the fact that a bunch of them really are Gundam Archetypes put into this relatively low stakes situation (when they're not just, y'know, Ramba Ral) is both funny and kind of enlightening
Aila Jyrkiäinen, who is definitely *not* meant to be a take on Lala or Four and definitely did *not* buy out the entire food court in a low detail distance shot spying on Reiji while Sei's dad tells Reiji an entire encyclopedia's worth of Gundam minutia.

I've had this thought kinda. Like maybe post up a survival horror style warning if there's something pervasive in the work that would ruin people's day but yeah otherwise like there should be a menu or something.
Streaming services should have a standardized field for em.

I've seen a decent amount of lamenting how 12-13 episodes isn't enough to tell a whole story and while I agree to a point it's kinda neat we got 2 6 episode anime this season and neither of them seem to have suffered for it

I love a lot of PS1 games but I'm always going to be a really big cheerleader for Threads of Fate. Part of Squaresoft's 2000 "Summer of Adventure" promo (all bangers btw) it's a great mix of comedy and adventure and has an artstyle and gameplay that's super well suited to the PS1 hardware.
