Trump's "Executive Orders" are, in plain English, diktats, which makes him ... er ... a diktator? Have I got that right?

In lieu of sending out Christmas cards to everyone I know, I've once again made a donation to the very excellent www.refuweegee.co.uk.
So, have yourselves a very happy Christmas, and may the New Year be all you may wish for yourselves and those you love.

Nationalising essential utilities – like water – should not cost taxpayers anything at all youtu.be/TlVbKVBLOiM?... Labour claims taxpayers would face a massive bill for nationalising the water industry. But that’s not true.

If your country has a lot of hydro power then any installation of intermittent renewables automatically gets grid storage.

Every hour on a panel, every rotation of a wind turbine means less water through a dam which is saved for later when the wind doesn't blow or the sun doesn't shine.

I naively thought we could one day take back and 'save' the bird app, but I see now that was foolish. Mea culpa for taking so long to do so, but I've downloaded my archive and closed up shop there now. Here for early medieval nerdery, and @almostarch.bsky.social for pop culture archaeology madness

Hello lovely followers! Given - ahem - global events and constantly worsening state of Twitter it seems wise to start preparing to end use of that platform, and make this my primary outlet. However so far, only got about 5% of the following carried over. If you can gies a wee boost, I'd be thankful!
