Thanks -- just called Schumer and Gillibrand. Not sure what (if anything) actually emerges today, but a deal with nothing substantive on ACA, no limitations on OMB unilateral cuts, no restoration of cut projects, etc. would be absolutely terrible.

So far only 3 NYC Council Members are on record supporting our 0.5% demand for public libraries. That's pathetic. nycplan.org/scorecards/l... - If you don't see your Council member on the list, then you should be giving them a call this week.

Agreed...I think it's a question of the balance of the value of higher voter turnout vs. having a space where we can actually talk about/focus on local elections. I think the presidential years would swallow the local discourse too much.

I really appreciate your thoughtful engagement with all these questions! I ended up in the same place, though I really struggled with Proposal 6.
