A wanderer, wonderer and picker-up of unconsidered trifles.
Thanks for that link, I'm anticipating more "time well wasted"! I have her "a thousand crossings" - mesmerising luminosity of place and people.

Very fine whiskers, very fine whiskers indeed!

I see where you were, but more by the outline of the Rhinogiau than from the nuclear lake! I do like the way your image suggests the pier rises up into the hills ..

Seconded! I always make a pilgrimage to Roberts' each time I'm in Meirionydd. Smashing flapjacks 😋

Can you share an image? Could be a solution for one or two Sproutmas gift conundrums. EG, what to give a man who has everything and wants even more 😉

Thanks for the tip off! As a Mahler & Sibelius fan, I'm looking forward to explore Melartin, a composer I'd never heard of until now 👍

It's been far too long for me: I last went Nov 1989 - great changes in central Europe back then! Bowled over by Vienna, really must go back.

Oh my goodness! And I thought the skeletal bling on the Habsburg coffins in the Kaisersgruft was OTT 😬

I now have the name for my next cat. I thank you.

Apologies first for a late reply and then, I'm no ornithologist!
But I can say, no partridge, only pheasants; no kestrels, but a solitary raven making resonant "cronks" as I reached the trees on Monk's Down.
Bonus: a loose parliament of rooks disporting themselves in the very fresh northerly wind.

Also, an encounter with the wreck of a wood beast, twisted limbs frozen in its final, gale-torn moments.

"Cutting the pages": breaking the seal on those dead lips and hearing them speak alive again. What a privilege!

Thanks! Much appreciated! ☺️

Do, please!
I'm suffering mid Wales withdrawal symptoms, as I was unable to visit in the autumn as I'd intended.
