A wanderer, wonderer and picker-up of unconsidered trifles.
Thanks for that link, I'm anticipating more "time well wasted"! I have her "a thousand crossings" - mesmerising luminosity of place and people.

Also, an encounter with the wreck of a wood beast, twisted limbs frozen in its final, gale-torn moments.

A fine day on the Quantocks. Views to Dunkery, Rhossili, Gower, south Wales coast, Bannau Brycheiniog, Sugar Loaf, Skirrid Fawr and new Severn Bridge. Not inconsiderably pleased 😊

A chilly, but bright, pilgrimage to Cranborne Chase. Having paid my respects to The General in Tollard Royal, fine views (and frost-bitten ears) walking to Win Green and back. My reward: tea, cake and books in Shaftesbury 🫖🍰📚

Black cats, in addition to their general witchy natures, have most especial powers of vision. Now on no.3 here!

A few years back, I hunkered down on the leeward side of Carn Galver with a thermos of tea and some flapjacks and was treated to an afternoon of shifting light, shadow and colour. And Porthmeor, amongst its ancient fields at the world's edge, overseen by this noble cloudscape. To be there now .. ☺️

The Sancreed Well cloutie tree back in spring this year. A magical place, indeed!

I've observed that trees in Penwith are tough as old boots, and have strong tales, if you have the ears to listen.

Here are some more quinces for your contemplation - about half of this year's crop. The heaviest fruit was c.540g. A good proportion is now converted into jars of fragrant quinciness for scones, toast, porridge and gifts 😋

I try to entice a cat(s) onto the duvet in anticipation of 2am / 4am worried wakefulness. Feline felicitude helps displace existential agonising.

Last visited the Wilts Museyroom to see the Ravilious exhibition, so here's another reason to go. Moore, Nash, Piper and Ravilious again!
Here's the Piper stained glass, which will no doubt be part of the show.

I'd say this was a devilishly well "defaced" volume, all thanks to @slipperyjack.bsky.social

Aha! 😁 Wonderful! The goat aflame with gold is superb, and the imp is delicately detailed, and very .. umm .. impish! 😈

I wonder what Mel the Postie has brought for me today? What can it be? 🤔😉 @slipperyjack.bsky.social

This is a c.20 yr old quince tree in Somerset. V bountiful, the other pic only shows about 1/3 of thus year's fruit! Soon I must start jelly production and fill the house with fragrant quinciness 😊
