Near as I can work out, if you reply with popular hashtags, or reply to very large accounts, that substantially increases the amount of weird spam replies you get. Which makes sense, if you were to think of it from the perspective of the person writing code to target people likely to be susceptible.

Hmm, I just noticed that the toe which lost its nail earlier this year is now my healthiest looking toenail.
That reminds me of my theory that eventually we’ll master tooth regeneration, but we’ll have pull out the originals first.

I think as leftists or whatever it’s incredibly hard for us to imagine that kindness and equality are not universally held human values. I think they will be one day, but there’s gonna be a lot broken dreams and rude awakenings along the way. We backslide on this every few generations without fail.

The one thing I'm certain is that whomever eventually gets named as the head of moderation/trust/safety/whatever will be within weeks the most unpopular account on bsky, with frequent mass calls for their removal. Not saying that's a reason against having someone. Just the foreseeable side effect.

So, if the post is legit (I saw a screen-cap), the head of moderation admitting celebrity joke threats are handled more gently than popular non-famous people, is, well it’s honest at least.

Stand up is not about safety and accepting static boundaries. I respect the point and the courage of Patton’s decision to step into this question. I respect other views, but I think it’s ok to put a few people on blast in a conspicuously inappropriate way.
