Now playing: Nemesis the Warlock on the C64 for the first time since the 80s. I had forgotten the way monsters sometimes burst out of your dead foes. This was hardcore onscreen violence for 1987. #retrogaming

Found this bad boy when tidying up my movie room. Bought it in a little shop in Exeter in about '93. Seems a little under UK Quad size, weirdly. What a lovely poster. #horror #evildead

Since March 2018, Powertool Cheerleaders Vs the Boyband of the Screeching Dead has been a daily part of my life. From scripting to pre-production, all the way through to sorting out distribution and marketing, not to mention two years of actually shooting the thing in the middle. (1/)

Decades too late, I FINALLY saw Friday the 13th Part III in wonderful 3D as intended. Had an absolute blast with it. My new favourite F13 viewing experience, overtaking Jason X in a theatre on opening weekend. It'll never be my favourite franchise, but goddamn I love 80s 3D.

Flashback to Cannes 2008. Feels like yesterday. I associate this fest with the smell of Lush's Sonic Death Monkey shower gel, which I had then but got discontinued shortly after. It's now available again, and the smell transports me.

We popped into SoS Records in Leigh-on-Sea to ask a question about Record Store Day and accidentally bought stuff

Back to my Night Gallery box set. I've seen every single original Twilight Zone so have have I allowed so much of this collection to go unwatched?

I'm about to watch Lavalantula, a spiders/lava movie starring the cast of Police Academy. I am extremely pleased with this choice.

So these damn things taste so much like their stated flavour that it's off-putting. First few crisps, I was oddly revolted by the texture/flavour mismatch. Then suddenly I could NOT stop eating them, guarding the bowl against others like a stray dog with a brisket. I was left unsettled.

Playing the old Activision Ghostbusters on the C64 mini. I was so ridiculously excited playing this back in '84 and the nostalgia runs deep.

After countless vinyl nights, our first cassette night has involved rather more pencils than would be considered ideal

A promo image of me from London Screenwriters Festival a couple of years back. Looking forward to this year's festival already!

Next week I'll be writing handwritten letters to a bunch of magazines about Powertool Cheerleaders vs the Boyband of the Screeching Dead because I do marketing like it's 1979 and I'm six years old.

We spent years making Powertool Cheerleaders vs the Boyband of the Screeching Dead, and made a movie that wins awards, makes audiences happy and gets four and five-star reviews on big websites. We have no money left for marketing so if you liked it, please tell people. Thank you lovelies x
