until this year it had its own webpage and search function web.archive.org/web/20241231... At some point this year it was folded into congress.gov and everything written before 2025 was "archived."

search those exact words in www.congress.gov/crs-products and the report is virtually unfindable. If you know the product code (in this case R46886) you can bring up an archived version.

the Congressional Research Service has also been deprecated. Search the non-gov everycrsreport.com for militia and find Use of Militia, National Guard, or Federal Armed Forces within the District of Columbia Prior to 2020,

how fun! I did a similar deep dive a couple of years ago - this book stood out for me - yalebooks.yale.edu/book/9780300...

"Toward the end of the eighteenth century, a radical change occurred in notions of self and personal identity."

What a coincidence! I'm visiting Oslo and just finished reading Thornhedge this morning! Both are absolutely terrific! (Really enjoyed the Munch, btw, and the sculpture in Vigeland park.)

"auto-theatre is the kind of theatre in which artists speak from the stage on their own behalf and under their own names, not the names of characters. They speak in their own words and about themselves." - Auto-theatre in the Era of Post-Truth

I sometimes wonder, what if I DIDN'T seperate the art from the artist and only wanted to read books by non-bigots, who would I read?

(Or, since it might be hard to tell for some contemporary authors, who would I have read in the 20th century?)

and what makes it extra creepy is the use of the prayer hands emoji. Please, God, help us kill those kids?

A quick internet search shows a few outlets, and a few US politicians, called it out as a war crime, but most references to "crime" are about the crime of not keeping secrets well enough, not much about the crime of murdering civilians.

I know this sort of thing is commonplace for the US but it's weird for improper use of an app to be the big story instead of purposefully and indifferently murdering civilians.
