How about if Congress doesn’t pass legislation to make healthcare affordable by the deadline, they loose all their healthcare? And they don’t get paid while they recess.

I wish Congress would remember that they are supposed to represent and legislate for We the People. We elected them and we pay them. Not he who would be king.

More robots equals fewer jobs. Among other things. Anyone else remember Asimov’s “I, Robot”??? A soothsayer, it seems he was. Sci-fi is real.

If those stupid tariffs hadn’t been in place, we wouldn’t need to bail out farmers. It ain’t rocket science, people.

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

Autopens have been used by presidents for decades. Trump used one in his first term. So should everything he signed back then be nullified?

If the Guard hadn’t been unnecessarily been in DC, both young people would be alive and healthy. It now gets what It wanted in that the Guard will stay in DC and more will come. Two lives are not worth it.

So the draft dodger is calling the veterans un-American. The picture is getting more and more wrong.

I have a question. If Republicans finally see Trump is unfit for office, what kind of Prez would Vance be? 4 yrs ago, Vance equated him to Hitler and hated him. Now Vance’s nose seems to be firmly imbedded up Trump’s rump. Thoughts?!?

The Republicans were bragging how this would be the longest shutdown. They got it. Now can the Congress get back to work?
November 5, 2025 at 1:12 PM
Any citizen groups or citizens with thoughts on that?

Congress is doing nothing these days yet still getting a paycheck. Petitions are out there addressing that. But do we really think that they would pass a law where they would get pay freezes or cuts? They never would. What if the Fed were sued by a group for such cuts? Would that work?

Every day he proves he doesn’t care about America or the People. Who can truly support him???

Is anyone surprised? A felon pardons a felon. To hell with justice, jury and the American Way.

Trump is saying the quiet part out loud: he sent a $20B taxpayer-financed bailout to help his far-right buddy Milei cling to power.

Meanwhile our government is shut down, public servants aren't getting paid & we're barreling toward a Trump-made health care crisis. Sounds like Argentina First to me.
Trump on Milei: "If he loses, we will not be generous with Argentina."

Congress and the president are paid by the Fed so, even tho’ they are voted in, they are government employees. So…off with their paychecks!!! Until this mess is stopped. Bet they would get it done a lot faster.
October 9, 2025 at 11:06 AM
Are Republican voters happy with the government shutdown? If not, don’t they make their objections known? I can’t believe everyone employed by the Fed is a Democrat or Independent.

History repeats. Dec 2018, when Rump was prez and the Repugnicans held Congress, the longest fed shut down happened. 35 days, it was.

This stupidity going on now is why we need a third political party. We have 3 levels of government. We need 3 parties to run it.

CEO pay is up 1,094% since 1978, while worker pay is up just 26%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

I bet if there was a gun control bill named after Charlie Kirk, the Repugnicans would sign it real quick.

The current administration is a true leader in spreading misinformation and they are going to blast Disney for doing it??? How much of what Kimmel said was really wrong?

I wonder how much money is being wasted in the change over from DOD to Department of War? All the buildings, websites and paperwork that needs to be redone. Ridiculous, this renaming.

Wild animals belong in the wild. 🐺

On #NationalWildlifeDay, we are reminded why protecting their homes and freedom is critical. Every action counts toward a future where wildlife can roam, choose their families, and live without fear.
