Hy Mark. It's an amazing reference for almost all covid-related issues (even for most laymen with a base knoledge).
As IT pro, let me suggest u one trick to ease readibility of online long text --> shifting the setting to a dark background and a light-grey/white text will be amazing for the eye.

Thx.

Thx Marc!

so, is the "interpretation":
"Children and adolescents face a significantly higher risk of various PASC outcomes after reinfection with SARS-CoV-2." a little bit streched in your opinion?
October 13, 2025 at 9:50 PM
Marc, could u pls tell me what's your take on this (... there's a lot of speculations by a lot of "experts", as always):
www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...
Long COVID associated with SARS-CoV-2 reinfection among children and adolescents in the omicron era (RECOVER-EHR): a retrospective cohort study
Children and adolescents face a significantly higher risk of various PASC outcomes after reinfection with SARS-CoV-2. These findings add to previous evidence linking paediatric long COVID to multisyst...

Have u ever been in an Italian hospital?
September 26, 2025 at 10:27 PM
Yes, exactly like before 2020.
The standard was quite different.
I have been a regular visitor to hospitals for 20 years as a patient (monthly, sometimes weekly).
I have also worked with hundreds of doctors for more than 15 years.
I know what I'm talking about.

sometimes we need to (really) get in the other people's shoes to understand.
I think that in public health venues, especially by healthcare people in sensible wards & ER, masks should be weared. At the very least when dealing with elderly and frails.
September 26, 2025 at 9:00 PM
Marc, I really appreciate your competence. U teach me (literally)a lot of things on immunology & I'm 100% sure of your good faith, but seems to me u have (sometimes) difficulties undertanding how tough has become for those "serious for some" to take care of themselves, especially in medical settings
September 26, 2025 at 8:52 PM
I mean the departments dedicated to frail patients, oncology, hematology, serious chronic conditions, and long-term care for the elderly were used to be very attentive (even wearing masks, yes), even before covid. We've been switching to the other side of the pendulum (seems to me).
September 12, 2025 at 11:58 PM
I'd say, expecially in public healthcare spaces, where vulnerable people has to go no matter what.
Seems to me nobody cares anymore.
I find it quite difficult to accept by healthcare people in hospitals.

Tks!

As of today, there are news reporting that the Trump administration, advised by Health Secretary R.F.K. Jr., is moving to stop the availability of all COVID-19 vaccines based on mRNA technology in the United States.
Isn't that insane?..

Got it. Never checked his credentials.

But now, I understood it was a stupid question by my side.

What do you think @jpweiland.bsky.social ?
..here in Italy I've asked to some regional labs that only make qualitative WW analysis (% of main variants) if would be possible (I mean both technically and scientifically reasonable) to do quantitative ones to better check the possible prevalence.
August 15, 2025 at 2:56 AM
Let me ask you a sincere question (FOA, I do not have any expertise on the subject, but I understood what u've said above, all thread):
do you think @jpweiland.bsky.social is not in good faith in doing what u call misrepresentation?
August 15, 2025 at 2:22 AM
u mean in the scientific world?
August 12, 2025 at 10:22 PM
what you're telling me makes it even more difficult to understand.
August 12, 2025 at 10:14 PM
Got it.
Have you ever heard of Prof. Akiko Iwasaki before 2020? Is she trying to ride the wave in your opinion?
August 12, 2025 at 9:58 PM
..marketing?..All of them?..I think some of them could be in good faith (with no specific scientific knoledge, maybe hit hard by the infection in the past years). For sure there are lot of people out there trying to ride the LC thing to sell something/build a career..
August 12, 2025 at 9:08 PM
What's the reason in your opinion?...lack of understanding...bad faith?..Why?
August 11, 2025 at 11:47 PM
Tks!

Hi Marc, so it's not possible to make quantitative analysis via wastewater samples?
As usual, I have to admit my total incompetence on the subject matter. Only to be properly educated.
Please, look at this: bsky.app/profile/jpwe...
What do you think?
Aug 1st Update + Forecast 📈

Wastewater jumped this week, and is now increasing in most locations. Current model forecast suggests a peak in early Sept at around 500-600k. This would imply a step down from last summer.
