I'm very disappointed by this.
Gurney is one of the most revered current artists, and one who people recommend a lot when learning, especially about Colour and Light.
He has a very famous book on the topic I will stop recommending, but some quotes on his blog damaged me the most.
So sad to see.

One thing that so far Narcissus and Goldmund does very well is that kind of compressed passage of time....it's what stood out to me in the beginning and kind of returned to it during Goldmund's travels during the plague. It's very lovely
