The U.S. Air Force has removed a video about the Tuskegee Airmen from its basic training curriculum at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland following Trump’s executive order banning federal DEI initiatives. The Tuskegee Airmen were pioneering Black pilots renowned for their service during World War II.

Truly ironic visiting the state capitol in SLC this week and seeing a man standing outside House chambers holding a sign in smeared scribbled black ink that read “Democrats are the new Nazis”.

Community is what will get us through. Pay attention to the big picture, but get involved in your area. Find an org doing the work, get to know your neighbors, go to city council meetings, join a community garden. That’s where the real change begins.

There are so many things I would ban before TikTok, including SUVs and assault weapons…

TikTok helped me stay sane as a social worker living and working in a rural area. I feel a gaping emptiness losing that connection to the world.
