The wokest of woke folk. Like Scrubs, pubs, birds and bass.
Earlier today I saw about 50 around a mill pond by Langstone Harbour near Hayling Island. It looked like a scene from the film African Queen. Absolutely stunning. The picture from my phone doesn't do it justice.

@brigitstrawbridge.bsky.social Hi Brigit, could you help identify the bee species for this detached abdomen. Thanks Chris

This is a litmus test.

I spotted one yesterday. I had trouble taking a photo of it on my phone. Every picture I took had an ethereal glow to it.

BTW, NEVER look directly at the sun. Do not look thorough a scope to line it up with the sun! Use the shadow the scope casts to guide you. When the shadow is the smallest you're good. Don't leave the scope unattended near children or the cognitively challenged, they may be tempted to have a peek.

I don't think I would have noticed the partial eclipse earlier unless I had used my scope to project an image onto a screen. It's the first time I've done it and I was surprised that I could see sunspots! #partialeclipse #solareclipse #dontlookdirectlyatthesun

This is from Hammersmith right now. Projected onto a screen through a scope.
