I'm a day late, but I do have to pay my respects to Ursula Le Guin. My love of her work honestly only grew with time. The deeper my own understand of writing became, the more I could see the craftsmanship in each word she had placed.

I miss my Alley girl all the time. 10 years of Alley Cat was not enough. She was the sweetest, goofiest girly, and 13 pounds healthy. It still makes my heart hurt that the kindest thing I could do for her by the end was make the pain stop.

I did so much stupid math and research for HA tonight, but the fun thing is doing all that lets you derive verisimilitude. For instance, the following table showing what units throwing punches is like to a nearby ordinary person. (Not as the target of the punch, mind. Just existing within 50m of it)
