🐸An experimental, wandering, out of synch video I made to accompany the Calefax Reed Quintet's great recording of my piece, Ranae. Taken while listening on my headphones in the brilliance of the afternoon light on a hillside full of wild flowers underneath Fort St. Jean in Villeneuve lez Avignon.🐸

Saw this yesterday and it's both bizarrely banal and brutal in how one moment they're talking about addictive shelling, than transactional shelling, and the next, the end of life on Sanibel; it becomes a funeral procession. 'This film transforms from a celebration of shelling into a...'😪

Carter intoduced me to Braxton and every time after that when I saw him at a concert, classical or jazz, we'd chat. He knew I was just a grad student... but a super respectful guy.
In my first week of college Anthony Braxton told me the future of the universe depended on my playing the accordion in his ensemble. (true story!)

I was 7, in first grade, Lake City, FL. We were let out of school, everybody was crying, my father picked me up and I asked him, 'What does it mean?' and with tears in his eyes he said, 'It's the end of the world, WWIII.' He thought Russia had done it. We all witnessed Oswald getting shot live, too.
A real President ……….

Sixty-two years ago today, November 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. He was shot while riding in an open-top car and died later at Parkland Hospital. The event, which occurred at 12:30 p.m. CST, was a moment of national tragedy.

These sadistically misbehaving BP agents know the law and risk jail time for themselves in violently persecuting these women who merely honked their car horns in Charlotte, NC.
This is bullshit! What are the charges?

When I brought Elsie back to NOLA the first time, 80-81, when we got married, I was employed as a 'card shark' for the Tulane Library, finally moving downstairs to the Music Library. 😎 Adding new books, corrections, we stood at the card catalog for hours at a time reading biblographical data.

In the mid-1980s Luigi Nono visited a monastery near Toledo in Spain, and on a wall there saw the inscription, "Caminantes, no hay caminos. Hay que caminar" (Walker, there is no path, yet you must walk)."

Elsie's father's residence, 1970-07. The lobby had one of his paintings on display. When Sid Vicious was rolled out on a gurney thru the front, her step-mother saw it and assumed it was Alfred. 🫣 He was the super-star abstract artist in '48, but his big mouth ruined his career.
