Passionate about stopping global warming & putting a spine back into Australian manufacturing. Ex President Aust. Nuclear Association & ANU Nuclear Masters Grad
We can do it right now with nuclear energy.
Its an essential tool to give us low cost energy+ultra low emissions.
This image shows the mix of wind, hydro, solar & nuclear.
France built 63GW in 22 years & now their emissions are < 30g CO2/kWh
We only need 25.3GW. Think of the environment we save

Labor has never really cared about the environment or emissions reductions.
If they did the anti-nuclear legislation would be repealed and we would be building zero carbon nuclear power plants right now.

No Zali you campaign against effective action on climate change by avoiding nuclear energy
In this video we outline the impossibility of achieving deep decarbonisation without nuclear energy
It's a vital part of our energy transition from both an emissions & economic perspective

Its an heroic assumption that EV charging will take place during the day.
Do you have evidence that this is the pattern in any other nation?

I want nuclear because:
a)It is the only proven way to get ultra low carbon energy
b)Its environmental footprint is minuscule compared to W&S
c)Its energy cost will be 1/2 that of excluding it - need 75% nuclear
d) It's an industrial rebirth for our nation

Except they don't + wind & solar aren't renewable
Here's just one example of the SA debacle that uses four different power sources intermittently to do one job.
This is why SA has the highest electricity prices & still circa 300 gCO2/kWh
W&S use 4 to 5 times more non RE resources than nuclear

The article says that wind & solar earn nothing during the day & this gets worse as their penetration increases. It then says they then need to rely on high prices from batteries at night
That's the same issue they criticise baseload for.
SA proves it doesn't work with our highest electricity prices
April 22, 2025 at 8:21 PM
It seems you didn't read the article. It claims that because solar/wind have negative pricing, baseload can't compete - well neither can wind & solar. As W&S increase they eat each others lunch & go broke. Then back comes gas and a vicious cycle is set up.
Worst of all, W&S are not ultra low carbon
April 22, 2025 at 8:16 AM
Please! Your phrasing is demonstrably false
The coalition policy on nuclear is our only way to achieve deep & long term CO2 reductions
This image shows that by 2120, nuclear will have halved the emissions of wind and solar = 3billion tonne CO2 saving

You know nuclear is vital & yet you oppose it?
