Passionate about stopping global warming & putting a spine back into Australian manufacturing. Ex President Aust. Nuclear Association & ANU Nuclear Masters Grad
The utter hypocrisy of the Australian Government pushing to host COP31.
Our government campaigns against our lowest emitting form of energy while Turkey is building a fleet of new nuclear power plants.
We have the same anti-nuke policy as the German Climate Criminals

As Chris Bowen lands in Belém with the clock ticking on a resolution, Anthony Albanese says the rules against co-presidency for the COP are clear.

The total cost including the main project and all transmission could blow out to $25billion.
That's 13 times Malcolm Turnbull's announced cost of $2billion. The same guy who claimed there was no business case for nuclear energy.

Bowen is wrong about the costs in our system
Its not $600B -its only $198B by 2050
Total Nuclear+RE cost is half Step Change at $384B vs $846B
Nuclear stops fossil fuels & has 1/4 the emissions & France proves it works every day

Well Denise @deniseshrivell.bsky.social you can rest easy with your Climate 200 mates as you shit on the climate and oppose nuclear energy.
It is impossible to achieve deep carbon reductions at low cost without nuclear energy and lots of it
We must get rid of the ALP and the anti nuclear legislation
March 4, 2025 at 10:05 AM
@zoedaniel.bsky.social is wrong to attack nuclear energy
Its our only way to achieve ultra low emissions
By 2120 using only wind & solar will deliver 6.1 billion tonnes of CO2
With nuclear its halved to 3.1 billion tonnes.
All based on Life Cycle Emissions
Please get fair dinkum Sophie - go nuclear
March 4, 2025 at 12:14 AM
There's been a lot of chat about the Govt's RE scheme outperforming nuclear with respect to emissions.
As anyone who is properly engaged on the issue knows emissions reductions need to be permanent, reliable, low cost and EFFECTIVE.
This is not a fashion contest.

We compared AEMO ISP with Nuclear scenarios.
We find that 75% nuclear with solar, hydro, storage and a bit of wind costs 1/2 that of a full wind and solar scheme. It has only 34 g CO2/kWh vs 145 for AEMO's Step Change scenario.
