What I like about this book is that it’s covers the quotidian, day-to-day lives of ordinary, everyday Russians in the Soviet Union in the 1970s. I think anti-communist hysteria blinds us to the fact that by 1972 the USSR was mainly just incompetent and corrupt.

One take away from this book is that Trump is a terrible manager of people. Every team he puts together becomes mired in backbiting and infighting mutual animosity.
