I had a breakthrough! I went with Roco z21 (white box). Saw it in operation, impressed that it worked via multiple iphones at once. The problem was I only partially activated the z21 via a firmware update first. z21 needs to activate first! Then I got blocked by a wlan name needing to be specific.🙄

I had a breakthrough! I chose the z21 controller on advice. Everything for Roco is in German🇩🇪. It turns out I had only partially activated the device- so no throttle response. Internet key activation with z21 servers fixed it. So I learned a ton about DCC debugging, but frankly, this was nuts.

I do have full ai generated examples. But when looking to do something more narrative I use Dall-E for static source images to ensure I have the right environment/character/stuff I want. Then I ask Runway to animate such as the figure walking.

In each cut, source image is from a real 1915 kodak. The tight focal plane is more to do with a 110 year old lens. The text prompt was simply a light breeze. Both luma and runway modified the lighting and detail and required successive attempts due to nonsense output.

I’m more into restoring and updating vintage stuff and repairing broken stuff. I have a large layout of track that goes through my den and my art studio. Everything here, locomotives and rail cars, is repaired, or built from parts and vintage kits that never got assembled.
