Announcement that from 1st January the royalty rate for books on Smashwords priced under $2.99 will be reduced to 40%, while those $2.99 and over will get 75%.

I don't often get onto LibraryThing (sort of like Goodreads but independent), but maybe I should, because check out this recent very kind review of Xenofestation.

That the reviewer is themselves a formidable fiction writer is just the icing on the cake.

Character work laid in previous episodes builds to a satisfying denouement, each character having grown and doing things that are at once surprising and make you go “makes sense.” Athena continues naively down a path she doesn’t understand, Amber’s work with the goblins builds to a crescendo, but the real payoff is from Ornella and Patience’s arcs. There are unanswered questions still of course - looking forward to the next volume - but this is everything you could hope for from a multi-volume conclusion. Highly recommended."

Incredibly suspenseful and vivid scenes, well-drawn characters, and vast, complex worldbuilding seamlessly integrated into the narrative, a future that feels all too real. As cliche as it sounds, the story really does grab you from the first page, and doesn't let go. So much erotica is porn-y, or cheesy, or downright cringey. But the sex is beautifully done, as is the social commentary. I've read plenty of traditionally published authors that could learn a thing or six from Paragonas's writing. Excited to read PV's stories set in Victorian times too!"
