Brilliant event @abbeytheatre.bsky.social today with Sarah Durcan, Sara Ahmed, and Catriona Crowe, chaired by Emma Dabiri. All about effecting institutional change, being a joyful killjoy, complaining, saying no, and not despairing in our desperate times #DublinTheatreFestival

First time picking up a parcel from An post in Dublin nearly finished me off. I thought I had living here figured out until I had to bargain with the crypt keeper in some back alley to get my books that they supposedly tried to deliver while I was home without ever ringing the doorbell

Just posted a little summary of the 7th International Postgraduate Conference in Irish Studies over on the conference website. If I do say so myself, the conference was a complete success, with all papers featured being absolutely brilliant:

I didn't expect last night to end with me bawling my eyes out over Imelda May's beautiful performance of Peter Sheridan's Mother of all the Behans, but there I was, sniffling my way through the final song, Molly Malone, alongside everyone else. So naturally, I'm headed to Glasnevin today

Have I officially been a member of the @ucddublin.bsky.social community for almost exactly two months now? Yes. Did I only just pick up my visiting student card now? Also yes.

Day five of #IASIL2025 which means it's time to say goodbye. The final panel and keynote did not disappoint, nor did the beautiful campus views that could almost make you forget you're on campus at all. Thank you to the organisers for such a beautiful and well-organised conference!

Day four of #IASIL25 and we got to see a great variety of brilliant panels, had a beautiful time at the farewell BBQ, and discovered some incredible views on the walk home

Day 3 at #IASIL25 and it was my turn to speak - finally. The brilliant keynotes keep coming and we had some book launch drinks. Then a little walk before an early night in.

Day one of #IASIL2025 looked something like this: long walks, nature views, pints, chats, laughs. Plus a brilliant keynote by Gerardine Meaney.

Making the most of my limited time in Dublin means: seeing as many plays as I can (already saw The Pillowman @gatetheatredublin.bsky.social and The Cave @abbeytheatre.bsky.social) and going to the beach as much as possible
