- Very good alumni network for later career entry in industry, business, NGOs, etc.: Our alumni include everything from state secretaries to energy traders and research engineers to project managers at Greenpeace, who meet regularly to exchange experiences with each other and with the new studies.

- Mixed teaching language: English-language Master's with the option of taking exams in German and also choosing modules in German or other languages from other Master's programs at the universities (e.g. Master's Mechanical Engineering or Wind Engineering)

- Equivalent fields of study Engineering, Transition and Development within the Master's program with many options in the technical field. We also allow for entries from students with a non-engineering bachelor background (through taking some additional technical courses at the start of the master)

- A tradition of more than 25 years of energy transition studies in Flensburg
- Unique cooperation to combine practical relevance with research strength: 2 universities offer a joint degree program that is highly permeable for academic advancement up to doctoral level
