Happening today!

The London premieres of The Purpose of an Empty Room & Familiar Spaces, performed by David Zucchi, and Open Union (Patrick Ellis, Peter Bell).

My first time in London, and a portrait concert to boot! If you’re around, come out and hear some wobbly, droney, microtonal sounds!

In one week! I'm really looking forward to be heading to London next week for my first portrait concert. Open Union and David Zucchi are putting on a concert performing the two works of mine that I wrote for them

The concert is at Hundred Years Gallery. If you're in town, I'd love to see you there!

Unspeakably excited for this show. Martin's music has meant so much to me ever since I discovered it almost a decade ago.

Thrilled that he's written an evening length new piece for my amazing Freesound colleagues.

June 28 and 29, 8PM at Arraymusic! Get your tickets soon!

You can’t make this stuff up. Hamilton Philharmonic is having Tommy Tallarico as a musical guest this week.

“A city needs to be the best book you will ever read.”

Gorgeous line from Andrew Levitt’s 2007 essay, Toronto: The City Who Is Whole

Lovely magical work by the late Ann Kipling. Inspiration for my piece (in progress) for Nathan Petitpas - glockenspiel and sine waves

Finally got my hands on archival material from ensemble kore.

Some amazing programs from 2001-2007 in Montreal. The important precursor to the work of so many of my colleagues in Canada.

Great initiative here from Canadian organizations. As a composer, I've never been paid even close to CLC rates for a commission (which are among the highest and most fair rates in the world).

Funding is rough in Toronto and Canada right now, but in doing some quick @freesound.bsky.social admin, I can at least be happy that since 2021, we’ve commissioned over 208 minutes of new music from composers. 🎉🎉🎉

So pleased to see that Supports & Surfaces has been reviewed in Tempo, a Quarterly Review of New Music.

A lovely in-depth dive into the three pieces that make up this album.

Thanks to @koryreeder.bsky.social for making this CD happen!
