Tis one of my favourite flowering seasons - Peonies! I don’t have them in the garden 🌱 but one day I hope to plant some, meanwhile I make visits to my favourite Dairy (corner store) to buy cut flowers with much delight!

Duuuuude! The Fijian Sea Turtles like to tease, no sooner have they popped their head out and then they head back under! So lovely to see them though!

Last day of my contract, and back to (f)unemployment hopefully only for summer, and arrived to this on my desk 🥰
Been great to work after a 7 month unemployed patch last year.

Thanks to the wet spring my Hydrangeas are hydrated and fully Hydrangeaing! Can’t wait for the flowers 🌱

Commuting by driving through the wind today was deeply unpleasant. Between all the rain we’ve had this winter and spring and the gale winds… this is as true as it’s ever been! 🤨

Anyone want a Te Kouka Cabbage tree?!

Another great night at World of Wearable Art (WOW), really enjoy the changes made to the show. It’s great for Wellington, although it’s not been sold out this time - Here’s the pre show vibes

They make a nice snack with honey, but tasty with all the things! Then the crumbs are great over a salad.

Made these delicious crackers full of healthy seeds for the first time in a long while. So easy, chuck all the dry ingredients in together, then add water but I have swapped out the 1/2 cup of olive oil for a neutral oil this time. The more toasty ones round the edge taste nuttier.

The last of our IKEA bulbs 💡 has been installed in our standard lamp. Why remark on this? We bought these pre 2009! We shipped all our furniture from the UK including our Ikea Standard lamp and bulbs and now in 2025 we are using the last of the pack! Still using the bedside lamps too! 🤣

While WFH today I’ve prepped a batch of toasty Granola, just need to add dried fruit - apricots, currants, figs today.
Since I drive 45 km to work at the moment, and try to leave sharp (for me), I stick a few scoops into a jar and then when I get to work I add milk and have it for breakfast. 🏆

I think this is a testament to the mahi of Zealandia wildlife sanctuary, we’ve had Kākā in our suburb for a couple of years, but for the first time we’ve had them in our garden, having a feed on our Kōwhai! Amazing!! Tūī suddenly stay away!! 🌱 #BOTY

I’m looking forward to seeing Wellington’s Band Rotunda’s glow up, but the big question is will this tree remain?! I feel it’s part of the fabric and character!! 🤓

Reflected on how blessed I am to live in such a beautiful place, where I can walk to vistas like this, hear native birds in the bush, so many trees… and home to my flourishing garden… do love Te Whanganui a Tara Wellington 🌱

I don’t know why I have sooo many make up brushes 🤓 and don’t know where to start in rationalising them! But all washed so when I can start wearing makeup 💄 again next week - I hope! - after my stitches are removed so I know they are not going to cause issues!

If this isn’t the visual colour representation of spring in New Zealand I don’t know what is!

And while out in the garden I marvelled at the Kaka beak, planted last year, and the Manuka creating a pop of colour at the front of the house. Joyful! 🌱
…also who am I, finding joy in my garden?! 😂 Kikorangi

Too windy to spend too long out in our garden, as I recover from eye surgery, but lovely to enjoy the spring sunshine on our flowering Kōwhai tree, which also means lots of Tūī to watch come and go!
