I thought we already had a word? Trumpican is what I've said for nearly a decade...

It's a win-win, cause it also sounds like something that would come out of Florida.

I too am from GA and live in ATL. But I've lived outside of GA as well. That's where my opinion comes from. No question that institutionalized racism exists here, but there's plenty of folks who would vote for a (functional) liberal party if we had better methods to prevent voter suppression.

I do agree that it'd be a lot closer though at least for statewide elections, and would make a real difference in states like GA and the Carolinas. It's more a rural vs urban issue than a north vs south issue, across the entirety of the country. The South just has historical inertia as well.

I have a sort of mental list of "folks I'll be very very sad if I find out they aren't as nice of people I want to believe they are"

It sucks to take things that you enjoyed or even got real meaning out of, and then throw a big asterisk on it as "oh yeah, now it's forever tainted" :(

Ugh, this is why I hate algorithmic social media. Bsky has issues, but at least I can choose to just look at only posts which I'm following.

I've realized that between Bsky and Discord, I don't really consume algorithmic social media anymore and my brain is better because of it.

The fact that folks in these responses are like "welp, we need to fix the Electoral College" drives me batty. The Titanic is sinking, and you're saying someone should really get rid of the icebergs.

Well, in unrelated news, we're winning our war on icebergs...

I'll raise you one: replace Neelix and Tuvok with Tuvix for the rest of the series after his "birth".
