Over the years I have lost friends and family too soon. Smart, witty, kind, just amazing people, the kind of people that made this world a little better and brighter and their absence left a void.

I thought this way most of my life (the whole beware fighting monsters). Being a better person does not help me sleep at night anymore, my daughter and granddaughters have fewer rights than I did at their ages. Moral superiority is cold comfort for how I failed to protect them. How we all did.

As someone with boxy hips and no ass (low rise jeans have nothing to hang onto on me) I wholeheartedly approve this message. I hated them in the late 90’s and my feelings haven’t changed. That they are also a presage for fascism makes perfect sense to me.

I’ve said this for years: conservatives have the same access to information that everyone else has. They aren’t being brainwashed or manipulated they are seeking out and choosing to believe the most ridiculous, hateful statements they can find.
