well then, let's try it again

this time we leave off Secure Boot (because i think it's one of the core problems i had when using Linux)

and yes, it's Fedora instead of PikaOS like i thought i'd intend to, but i wanted a first-party distro to use for now.

The International Criminal Court is ditching Microsoft Office, saying it’s too dependent on US tech, in favor of Open Desk, a German open source alternative.

The move comes after Microsoft revoked ICC head Karim Khan’s email access when he was sanctioned by the US for the warrant against Netanyahu.

Amazing, how YouTube just enables Restricted Mode and doesn't let me disable it because it's "turned on by your network administrator".

There's nothing i did that triggers this. And the only solution i could find for this is "to wait until it goes away".

Great job, Google

I start to realize two things really: Using derivatives of something doesn't bring me the satisfied results that i want. For example, using LibreWolf when i could use Firefox with Arkenfox and get my updates directly without a seperate team's intervention.

And the other is to not purely rely on..

I'm not really happy with Helium, and i don't think i have to be. While i have Brave back installed with the most minimal stuff enabled or installed, Firefox is now back at default. Still not happy with it, but going through a box of shit to find the least shit pile is pretty useless.
Since i'm frustrated with the direction of Firefox - more AI, Google Lens integration and now Perple*ity as search engine - and Brave, which has it's own suite of AI and crypto bullshit atop of a solid browsing experience, i'm glad to see Helium as an alternative to that.

While using Firefox, i got fond of the Arkenfox script, which applies some standard that i set anyway while disabling Firefox features and the stupid AI features. Pretty neat to have at hand whenever i reinstall Firefox.
Going away from LibreWolf and Ungoogled Chromium. Both manage to break websites all the time, even with these settings.

Firefox works, but of course is missing the Arkenfox settings, and at this point i don't think it's necessary as long as i keep my extensions on a minimum and clear my data on..

Politicians really want to appear as the worst people known to mankind, huh

My best guess is still that it won't get through because it goes against the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, Article 7.

Go after me: email them. call them. give them fucking hell.

I aay this and did something big anyway - moving my passwords out of the cloud and into local encrypted storage with KeePassDX, KeepassXC and Syncthing.

Not relying on an cloud provider means eliminating the foreign point of failure. It comes with disadvantages tho, especially if not done right.
There's not much privacy shenanigans going on lately. Most of my stuff works flawlessly, after the Discord takeover i found and purged all accounts i have forgotten to delete, and nothing new shows up on the radar.

Maybe if someone wants to migrate and needs some help, i'm here! I have time 😌
