Also - it is not clear that changing tack now would make anything better.
Yes, there are extra systems costs with renewables, but we’re facing them already. Abandoning net zero, or going nuclear-first, would almost certainly not reduce bills now, and would erase most of the long term benefits

My favourite part of the folklore is that they got a high-end piano last minute from a nearby music school to replace the small grand piano that had mistakenly been set up.
