Nature, gardening, home grown veg and Bryn. Adelaide.
Popped into the Mortlock Library yesterday for a bit of festive joy.
Got some great light effects too - I think it’s all the powerful words and creativity leaking from all the books .
It’s a really stunning magical place.

Not a bad day for winter. Our local flying foxes provided good entertainment on my lunch break

A sunny winters day in the garden.
New propagater box for my first go at growing capsicums and eggplant from seed. Always trying something new.
Breeze was a bit cool but very welcome sunshine.

A pond has been slowly forming at the end of my garden. From abandoned bit of bed by the gate to future wildlife habitat.

The rain over the next few days will help to fill it and once the edging is all finished and plants in it should look ok.
How long before a frog moves in?

There are some days when the news can be overwhelming and leave you feeling sad and afraid. Today is one of them.
Try to remember that the good in the world has always outnumbered the bad, stroke a cat and enjoy the sunshine x

I’ve been neglecting posting on Bluesky for a while. Doing less photography at the moment and more gardening - particularly the veg plot which has been a lot of fun. Planted up with winter veg seeds today. Not much to see now but treasures to come (hopefully)

We’ve had a beautiful autumn day. Spent the morning in the garden with fellow sun worshipper Bryn.

The beech trees in their mossy socks, like some giant, day-glo-feathered cart horse legs caught clopping through the ever-lasting leaf-litter, neon dogs mercury & kingfisher-blue bells. Heady.

One for the #cricket lovers. Watching the Flintoff doco on Disney - I’ll admit that I’ve shed a few tears but then to also see Warnie in the footage - double whammy. So glad to have seen these guys play.

We have the unenviable title of hottest city in the world today - maxed out at 44°c at home.
Tough day for the wildlife.
Braved the heat to see our flying foxes taking a dip in the Torrens.

Scored a free well read book from work. It was on top of a pile of free law books, and caught my eye. I know of the sorry but never read it.
Started it during my lunch break and no doubt will finish it tonight. Just the type of read I need right now.

Have you seen blue banded bees asleep?

Found this group in the garden all tucked up for bed last night. I think these are the males as the female has an underground burrow.

Love seeing and hearing these stripy buzzy guys around the garden.

The aliens are hatching in the garden!

This is the pupa case of a rain moth - a large moth whose grubs live under ground.

Not actual had any rain for a bit - hoping it might mean some is on the way.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas…..

Bit of Christmas baking - some spiced biscuits and meady spiced fruit filo tarts.

The backdrop might not be wow but that tail certainly is - love the shimmer.
Beautiful day out in the Barossa and a stop off at Maggie Beers farm shop with her magnificent peacocks
