Not the biggest fan of shorter days but I love what this time of year brings to the garden, large Blue, Great, LTT, Coal Tit flocks, Chiffchaff, WW, Goldcrest, Greenfinch, 25+Goldfinch, just non stop birds, there's even a Grey Wagtail hanging around, it's a joy to watch

It's been over a year now since I started the new walk to work, I've seen 55 species of birds, several butterflies, a couple of dragonflies, lots of bugs & plants. The Kestrels I see have 2 young again this year & currently there are Cinnabar moth caterpillars all over. 1/2

I've been staying in Northumberland again this weekend, I think I want to move here. The birds that I see/hear just sat in the garden first thing in the morning are fantastic

Tonight's snacks - marmite rice cakes (obsessed) & bombay mix (thanks grandad for introducing me to the that in the 80's!). Chased down by a mug of tea. Absolutely living tonight

The woods are full of Bluebells, Parsley and wild garlic at the moment. Can't smell any of it thanks to a nasty flu (covid) thing that's left me without a sense of smell 😬

Early Swifts, three of them over the house just now 👏👏

A couple of new singing birds so far on the way to work this week, Blackcap and Willow Warbler. At least half a dozen Chiffchaffs too, lots of Dunnocks, Robins, Wrens and Blackbirds, in fact just lots of lovely birdsong in general!

A couple of Hoverflies in the garden today

The trees in this car park have absolutely been butchered and cut down over the weekend, there was a Magpie nest in one of then, they keep sitting on the fence and lamp post looking at the tree. Sometimes I hate people.

Spent ten minutes by the kitchen door listening to the birds, the garden is full of them, lots of singing, Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Robin, Blackbird.... Bees all over the neighbour's cherry blossom 👌

Gorgeous morning at Rodley Nature Reserve, heard a Chiffchaff and saw plenty of birds, including GSW, Kingfishers, Jay's, Peregrine, Kestrels and a Deer. Very nice cheese scone and a cuppa in the visitors centre too!

This little patch of woods on the way to work is teeming with birdsong, plus a Skylark is singing overhead
