I'm frankly puzzled by the cover photo. If I'm not mistaken, those look like Andean textiles from the central-southern Andes. But of course, what would they be doing on the cover of a book about the economies of Roman Iberia? It has to be a mistake—probably some editing or printing slip-up.

A reminder that much work remains. It is essential to move beyond discussions of postcolonial and decolonial frameworks, as these often serve merely as euphemisms. The actual demands of oppressed peoples are fundamentally anticolonial. Coloniality has not ceased; it persists.

Fine, the focus extends far beyond merely fossil-based objects. Nevertheless, when discussing the domesticated species, the goods we've consumed, and the artefacts we've created, utilised, and discarded, we are indeed talking about #archaeology

So what can high-income countries do to achieve faster emission reductions? In the Discussion section, we show how post-growth mitigation policies can *accelerate* decoupling and decarbonization much faster than what can be achieved in a growth-oriented scenario.
