The smartest thing I may have done this last month is get a phone case with a lid. Untrain the response reaction to the screen lighting up due to random, unimportant notifications, shut the phone up so when it’s not in use it’s REALLY not in use. Big recommend.

I’ve replaced the original Apple Pencil tip with pen.tips Ballpoint tip, but then over that I add their Fiber tip. Might just be me but the interplay creates a very pleasing sense of drag and grip that travels up my arm and tells my art brain a lot more about how I’m drawing.

I’ve been using their textured screen for quite some time now, almost three years, I rarely ever take it off my iPad except for occasional cleaning.

It needs a lot of cleaning and the line thicknesses need a lot of adjustment for controlled emphasis, but I’m very happy with how this is coming together.

Somedays it’s exactly like this. No matter how thoroughly I plan it, once it’s digital all kinds of aspects hit different and I’m basically taking apart the entire drawing as some kind of quantum collage until it can resettle into its best form

This was a hell of a thing to move behind this severely cramped but unusable space between the stone and these beams that used to be a shelf, but I’m pretty happy with it
