49 albums and three things I finished in February
7x7 monthly album grid. top 3: mourning flight by colonel macabre, Stovall by Microwave, and In Rainbows by Radiohead watercolour painting of a forested valley between two large rock faces. I painted it for my watercolour class, and the reference was a picture my dad took in I think Utah. a quilted pillow with a rainbow of threads in a circle as the quilt block. I made this as a light practice of foundation paper piecing before tackling a much larger quilt for a block of the month pattern. watercolour painting of a cardboard box (implicitly it is a box that generally contains medication, though there isn't any actual words to indicate it) and a spool of purple thread (it's guterman - there's faint pencil marks of the words on the spool). I painted it for the still life assignment in my watercolour class. I knew immediately that the box had to be what I painted, and I actually painted that box about 15 times before this one. the spool is of the thread I use to quilt with, and I added it because 1. I quilt and 2. I was interested in the way the light played with the threads. I care about this painting a lot. it's called "what I've been up to lately" and it feels

what I've been up to lately / Feb 2025
watercolour painting pinned to a display board. the painting is a still life of an empty medication box and a spool of thread. I wanted to paint things that are relevant to my life and what I love to be and do lately - the box is the box that my testosterone comes in, and the thread is from my quilting supplies.
