Contributing editor for Albumism, writer of stuff and Prince fan(atic?). I have a million notebooks with ideas and unfinished scripts/books/screenplays in - maybe one day I’ll get one seen. Doubt it though!
I have had an exciting day of cleaning and tidying bookshelves (not that you’d know by looking at them!) and have found two duplicates of books I have. If there is anyone in the UK who wants them, I’d happily give them away for the cost of the postage and a small charity donation. Any takers?

Here is a picture of the three local Tory candidates for local councillors. It was a big A3 booklet with the inside taken up with massive pictures and profiles of them. But one was missed out for some reason and had to make do with this tiny group photo - can you guess which one?

Is it this one?

Think there’s the possibility of crossover episodes? A-ha!

Today I have mainly been making Millionaires Flapjack. Never made caramel before. Not unhappy.

I’m not a fan of any adverts but at least the NYT puzzle ads haven’t worked me out yet:

I’ve been a bit (a lot!) slow finishing my book. I could read Colson Whitehead every day. Loved it.

So yesterday me and my daughter finished this book. We’re both wondering what we’re going to do with our lives now it’s finished! She’s 9 and pretty bright and I’m sure loads of other children would love it.

I find her albums a bit hit and miss but she’s got some good ‘uns. I do like this album though:

Every time I see this, I ask if this is for real. Is it? Fish, from Marillion, playing guitar for Frank Ocean?

I’ve gone down memory lane this evening while preparing dinner. In around 1996 or so I bought one of the most important albums I’ve ever bought. HMV in Derby was the place and posting it goes against all my ‘albums rule’ principles because it’s a compilation CD album.

I normally post the books I’m reading but wanted to share the one me and my 9yr old are reading together. It’s a lovely ‘whodoneit’ that is entirely age-appropriate and really well written. It’s the first big book that has grabbed her and we talk about it constantly.
