I am baffled as to why people think 'operational definitions' bring clarity to scientific concepts. Conflating the (presumed) evidence for the effects of something unobservable with the thing itself does not *clarify* anything. It is *muddling*, collapsing the distinction between theory and evidence

After dealing with Crohn's disease for almost 20 years now, I finally had surgery to get the bit of intestine that's been bothering me all this time removed. I'm feeling pretty great now! I hope this is the last of my health problems for a while.
