The polls are clear. We should not be pandering to the right, we should be listening to trade unions and pivoting to the left. End the fiscal self-harm, invest in public services, tax the rich, and watch the votes flow back to Labour.

The Schools Bill is a good first step to de-academisation. To go further Labour need to accept that academies do not lead to better standards of education for children👇🏻

The actions of UL is an existential threat to one of the few terms that make teaching a long-term career choice. If academies leverage the cost of living to coerce mass departures from the TPS, the scheme will die. A good salary and a good pension should not be mutually exclusive.

Starmer says he is “not ideological” about private sector involvement in the NHS. A targeted 20% increase in their use suggests otherwise. The NHS will be further compromised if those delivering services value profit over health. The NHS should remain wholly publicly owned and delivered.

The NEU accounted for 69.5% of unique workplaces to have taken strike action in 2023, according to this (👇) Strike Map report.

The ranking may be lower if the data was presented as % of members taking strike action. But still; a stunning achievement by workplace reps.
