Last night we said goodbye to our caravan on Anglesey for the last time. 14 years have flown by. I introduced my wife and daughter to Anglesey a year or so earlier and they loved the place from day one, so much so that we are now moving to the island in the next couple of weeks!

A friend told me about a leucistic moorhen on one of the flashes in Wigan, so I thought I'd pop over and see if I could find it. I didn’t have to wait, there it was was shining in the sun. What a stunner!

The two ruff took me some time to id. Their plumage can vary over the year and their sex to point that I almost give up.

I went to Pennington Flash CP just after work. Birding highlights included 2 little tern (see ace photo of one), 1 black-necked grebe, 1 oystercatcher, 1 common tern, and a stock dove. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't turn any of the tufties into the lesser scaup. #ukbirding
