Granted, I'm currently reading a book about the 3rd Reich, but the Nazis also weren't consistently ideological outside of their personal preferences. Worship Hitler. Obey. Everything else was surprisingly negotiable.

Typically when maga stooges publicly take the fall they quietly end up getting paid on the backend. Cushy jobs, perks, cash etc. This admiral's gonna keep his mouth shut & maybe get a nice house and a boat when he retires.
