Kind of a hoser. Likes birds.
I suppose that's better than chimp-sized mice.

WHEN CONSTABULARY DUTY'S TO BE DONE, TO BE DONE, A POLICEMAN'S LOT IS NOT A HAPPY ONE (happy one)!

(Sorry. You said "The Pirates of Penzance," and I couldn't help myself.)

They didn't teach her in law school to read the fine print?

"For entertainment purposes only," man. It's for fun!

I just posted a bird butt shot, but sadly not a sandhill crane. Never have managed to spot one of those. I'll be sure to keep that in mind, though, and post more of my "fail" shots.

Ha, that IS silly. I was worried they'd changed the lyrics into something ridiculous but unforgettable, like my father changing the lyrics of "Di Madride noi siam mattadori" into a song about two old ladies trapped in a toilet stall. That was like 30 years ago, and it STILL pops into my head.

I'm not familiar with this character. Do I want to know, or will it ruin "Die Fledermaus" for me?
November 14, 2025 at 6:35 PM
I think that one DID make it into Fallout 3. (But I think it's a good thing they couldn't get it for the first game. "Maybe" was the perfect choice.)
November 13, 2025 at 11:35 PM
I worked my way through most of the 20th century, music-wise, in university, after a childhood spent listening to mostly what my parents listened to. The 1940s and '50s were my easy favourite. I'm glad Fallout is keeping that music popular. It'd be a shame for it to be forgotten.

Fully. For me, atmosphere-wise, that game was a whole SERIES of perfect choices.
November 13, 2025 at 5:54 PM
It's for me.

I'm a Mac user who wants to play PC games, and do so on a nice big screen.

(I already do this with a docked Steam Deck, but if I didn't have that, I would get the Steam Machine. Might get it anyway, as my Steam Deck's power button keeps breaking.)

I'd love it if that caught on, but realistically, nobody outside Scotland knows what it means.

(Paedo. It means paedo.)
November 13, 2025 at 5:19 AM
I'm glad you're in a good place with that, with being cool with all parts of yourself. I can't speak, of course, for all cis people, but I would say I'm in general comfortable with most aspects of myself, but I do let it bother me when other people aren't. Or when they make it their business.
November 12, 2025 at 12:23 AM
Well, thank you. You know that goes both ways, right? I love where you've gone with your art and your career, and admire your thoughtfulness and insight.

I guess maybe I perceived myself as aggressive because I often felt like I had to fight for things. But maybe that's not what other people saw.
November 12, 2025 at 12:21 AM
Oof, and I was SO aggressive back then! Though, there are worse things to be, as a female illustrator. Or as a woman. I've never been good at performing gender, anyway, and I can't say I'm a fan of all the policing. Or of this pressure to pick a side. I have masc and femme traits, so what, right?
November 12, 2025 at 12:03 AM
I don't think I would like it much if my perception of my gender were tied up with shame, but who knows? Maybe it is, in ways I haven't considered. Considering what our environment actually IS, especially online, all sorts of crap must get into our thinking, and go unexamined.

That's a very good point. I suppose the surprise comes from anything positive coming from the way Leisure Suit Larry depicts anyone--but you're right. It doesn't have to be a positive depiction to resonate for somebody.

I swear I've seen something like that before.

Oh, yeah. Here it is: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stipa-C...

That wouldn't surprise me, if standards have changed. This flight WAS post-9/11. And it was probably NEVER a normal thing to let a passenger use one. That's the kind of perk you probably only get if you're somebody famous.
November 11, 2025 at 2:04 PM
Oh, that must've been it! I knew there were secret beds. (I probably shouldn't be TOO butthurt I wasn't offered one, though. It WAS a long flight. The crew probably needed them.)
November 11, 2025 at 2:03 PM
Oh, I forgot all about that! I never would've thought I'd see Leisure Suit Larry and somebody's trans awakening mentioned in the same breath.
