; welcome to the UK, where those peacefully holding signs opposing genocide are deemed "terrorists" and arrested, yet far-right thugs protesting outside hotels housing migrants with signs reading "kill them all", bellowing racist chants and doing Nazi salutes are applauded as "patriots". 🙄

Robert Jenrick, the Tory Shadow Justice Secretary and former Home Office Minister, joining protesters outside an asylum hotel is one of the most disgusting acts by a frontline British politician in living memory.

Kenmure Street, Glasgow. Four years ago.

Ordinary people stopped what they were doing to protect their neighbours. No strangers.

Absolutely brilliant yesterday be with so many people at the pro trans rights rally in Norwich. I didn't take pictures, but it was massive. Queer people have always been here, we always will be, and we won't be defeated or scared into silence. Solidarity to my trans siblings all day every day.

This shocking violation of a place of worship is a direct result of crackdowns on protest and dissent - freedom of speech, assembly and democracy are at risk.🕊️

More of the approach that's never worked once in political history: screaming "we're racist!" at the far right in the vain hope that people *who despise you* will switch from more racist parties, without your horrified base switching to less racist ones.

The Treasury Department right now. People are turning out against Musk and DOGE staging a takeover of the Treasury’s payment system. This crowd is big. The whole block is packed. “Lock him up,” everyone yells.

It feels like a dark and scary time for LGBTQ+ people right now. But I love being queer and I'm proud of my community. I have quite a bit of straight passing privilege, so my intention for this month includes wearing one of my pride badges every day and being as out and proud as I can be.

January 21, 2025 at 6:32 PM
Our Trixie is a very sweet, affectionate girl, but she is a bit reserved and not a lap cat at all. But since I got home from hospital and have been in pain and recovering from quite a traumatic procedure, she's been constantly by me, on my lap or laying by my legs with her paw on me. 🥰
