How does combat work in the game? Are there tactical elements, or is it much more freeform than games like D&D/Pathfinder?

Interesting. I am familiar with Torg in a basic sense, so I might have to check it out in more detail.

Had a similar experience earlier today autopiloting one of the other player's characters. Struggled to roll above 5 on any of their attacks.

Fabula Ultima is very interesting, particularly its leveling system. I hope that it continues to get a lot of love and support.

An excellent choice! The Octopath games, in general, have amazing music options for most fantasy TTRPG campaigns.
